I love how little themes pop up around here. PLR and blogging seem to be key points lately and this weekend’s Q and A is no exception.
Reader Submitted Question:
PLR seems to be all the rage, I was thinking about starting a PLR website but I’m worried about the market being saturated. What do you think? Is this an easy business to start?
Obviously I like a nice balance of service business and passive income, I think it’s a good way to go for cash in hand while planning for the future at the same time. I’m also very clearly a fan of PLR – I even offer it from time to time as part of my growing business model.
Do I think it’s a good idea to start a PLR website? Absolutely. If that’s what you want to do I say go for it.
Do I think the PLR market is saturated? Yes, but with crap. What we need is more quality PLR websites and services out there.
Is this an easy business to start? No, but nothing worth doing is ever easy. Actually, there are a few parts that are easy, but I think the hard parts like getting traffic and building your list will balance it all out in the end.
Okay, so let’s look at this a little more.
I would say the first thing to look at are some successful quality PLR services, see what they offer, check out their sales pages, and maybe even search the web for reviews of their offerings. A few of my favorites are Easy PLR, PLR.me, Yummy PLR and All Mom Content. All three of these have great followings and offer up quality PLR articles of various types.
Next, I would think about what kind of PLR you want to offer. Do you want to keep things general and cover a variety of topics or do you want to focus on a particular niche market? For example, Yummy PLR is just recipes and food related. You could focus on a niche topic that you feel comfortable in. Maybe for you it’s crafts, or pets, or technology. I think it’s safe to say that every niche on the web could use some great content!
Now you need a domain name and some hosting if you don’t already those things. Don’t worry the good domain names aren’t all taken – that’s just one of those crazy internet myths that people want you to believe. Here’s just a few domain name suggestions, and these are all available as of the time I’m writing this.
- awesomePLRarticles.com
- grabPLRarticles.com
- PLRarticlesdeal.com
- affordablePLRarticles.com
- uberPLR.com
- techiePLR.com
- goodPLRcontent.com
- PLRmonkey.com
- PLRshark.com
- fantasticPLR.com
That’s just a small sampling of domain names off the top of my head in a few minutes just now. I didn’t even dive in really deep to dig for more names, so I would venture to guess that there are loads of PLR related domain names available to grab up.
Now you need to get some content to sell on your PLR. You have a few choices here. You can write all the articles yourself, which is how a lot of PLR businesses first begin. You can outsource the article writing to a ghost writer or several writers depending on how many articles you need.
There’s a third option here actually. You can buy a PLR package that has full resell rights for you to sell the PLR as well. All Resell Content offers a service for this and you’ll get fresh content to sell to your PLR customers every month without having to write a word or hunt for ghost writers all over the web. They rotate subjects each month so that you are constantly able to offer something different in these niches….
- Online Marketing
- Weight Loss
- Dating Advice
- Gardening
- Pets /Dog Training
- Wedding planning
- Healthy cooking & eating
- Pregnancy & baby
- Real Estate
- Fashion Advice/Tips
- Job Search
- Service Provider – VA, Writer, etc.
- Travel Tips/Deals
- Natural Health – remedies, herbs, alternative therapies
- Green Market – energy, health, kids, etc.
- Debt Relief / Bad credit
The team at All Resell Content also provides you with a few extra perks in addition to fresh content. You’ll get a guide to selling PLR on the web, including tips on how to retain customers month after month and a private discussion area to talk about the business with other PLR sellers. One advantage to this option is they limit it to 100 licenses for offering the PLR rights, so you won’t be swamped with competition.
That’s all I can think of on the topic of getting started selling PLR right now. If I missed anything or you have further questions please feel free to email me again or go ahead and post in the comments here. Enjoy the PLR resources above, they’re all great resources and quality PLR. Follow those examples and I know you’ll go in the right direction.
Kind Regards,
