Violence against women affects no less than one in three women today. That statistic may be surprising to you in this day and age where women are no longer afraid to be independent. The truth is that fear, pride, shame, and a whole range of emotions that the rest of us will never experience or even imagine keep women from speaking out on a daily basis.
UNIFEM (United Nations Development Fund for Women) is currently running a Say NO To Violence Against Women Campaign to attain 1 million signatures for this movement by November 24, to take a stand and build a community around this important cause. On November 25, UNIFEM and Goodwill Ambassador Nicole Kidman will present these signatures to the UN Secretary General.

Brief Summary: We want a design for use in email and print media to catch the eye of someone unfamiliar with UNIFEM but interested in protecting women in underdeveloped nations. The causes, i.e., human trafficking, HIV/AIDS, poverty & starvation, etc. are a very hard sell so we need to get their attention but not scare them off.
