I Want to Love Your WAHM or Mommy Blog, I Really Do

I spend a lot of time checking out different blogs, I’m always on the lookout for great WAHM and Mommy blogs for the 20 Questions with Mommy Bloggers series, and I really just truly enjoy seeing what is happening in the work at home mom community. But sometimes, it’s difficult.
When 500 buttons and banners load up in three sidebars before I even see a word of content I tend to click off the page and go the other way.
I know that you want to share all the cool blogs you read, but throwing up hundreds of 125×125 buttons is your sidebar is not helping them or you. This seems to be a growing trend in the newer mom and wahm blogs that I’m seeing in my online travel and it has left me a bit dismayed.
I beg of you, clean up your sidebars, show me the content first, and win me over with your wit and personality. I will love you for it. Chances are I’ll love you anyway, but I’ll love you more if you declutter you blog and focus on the content you’re providing.

Awesome topic. I know I’ve wiped my sidebars clean a few times of junk I just didn’t think I needed or wasn’t performing the way I thought it should. There’s only so much that can go “above the fold” and can be seen accurately at any given time. Although maybe I’m one of the bloggers you were referring too, HA!

Yeah, I have to go and re-evaluate my own blogs here and there. I also like to ask friends to evaluate them or a family member that doesn’t normally read my blogs. It helps to have that fresh take on if you are overloading those sidebars.
