What’s Wednesday Like for You? It’s Half a Day for Me

Hey out there Blogland! Today I just want to hang out and chat with you a bit. I’ve been super busy and I just need to grab a cup of coffee and chill out for a few minutes. You know that feeling, right?
Sometimes we get so involved in our business and projects that we forget to take a break or to breathe. If that’s you, then please join me for a cup of coffee right now, sit back, stop pounding on your keyboard and just take a deep breath.
Wednesdays are a little different from the rest of the week for me. Three out of my four boys are in elementary school, and in our school district every Wednesday is only half a day for the elementary school kids. They’ve done this for a long time apparently and it’s supposed to help with attendance ratings and such since you can schedule your dentist appointments for Wednesday afternoons and the kids are in school just long enough for it to technically count as a full day of school.
So, what does my typical Wednesday look like? Make sure all the bed head is reasonably tamed and get everyone out the door to the bus stop on time, do a quick email check and answer anything that is super important, then dive into transcription for the day. I work on that until the boys get home around 1:30, then after that I’m off and on the rest of the day.
While the boys do their homework I might jump on Twitter and see what’s happening, or chat it up on some forums, I might even sneak in a game of Bejeweled Blitz on Facebook. We do a lot of little things that don’t really get done during the other days of the week, like actually folding the clean laundry. Then there’s usually a video game being played and some blogs being read.
By the time my husband and oldest son get home it’s time to start dinner, but I am a lousy cook, so thankfully my husband Brian does all the cooking. If I’m making dinner we’re either having grilled cheese, pizza, or something out of the crock pot. That’s the total of my cooking ability. (Now, baking I can do! Unfortunately having dessert for dinner tends to put a few extra pounds around the middle.)
From there it’s dinner, hanging out with the kids, maybe some time outside, watching a little TV, running any errands that need doing for the day. Before you know it the boys are off to the showers and their heads are hitting the pillows (usually between 8:30 and 9:00 PM.) I’ll watch a show with Brian and then I usually jump back on the computer to work a little more before I head off to bed myself.
That’s my Wednesday in nutshell. What’s your Wednesday like?
Kind Regards,
