Honestly, there are hundreds of different ways to use PLR (private label rights) articles, graphics, and reports. But, for today I wanted to look at this from an every day blogger’s standpoint. I’ve been blogging for a few years now and I do use PLR pretty often in addition to content I’ve written from scratch. A common concern among bloggers is that PLR isn’t your own content. It is your own content, whether you’re using straight out of the box or dressing it up to give it your own voice, it’s still you conveying your message to your audience. You’re not copying, stealing, or selling out in any way.

So, let’s look at some of the top ways you can use PLR on your blog. For today’s example let’s say that you’ve purchased a pack of 5 or 10 PLR articles on a topic that closely relates to your blog.

One option is obviously creating blog posts. But, let’s look at this a little deeper. You can post the articles as is on your blog and preschedule them so that you have 5 to 10 posts ready to go live at different intervals. That’s the fastest and easiest way to use the articles.

With just a few more minutes of your time you can write an introduction paragraph to each article in your own words, making it unique to you and then do the same thing with the prescheduling option.

Even further still you can break the articles up into shorter pieces and end up with 10 to 20 blog posts. The nice thing about a blog post is that it doesn’t have to be long. It can be 50 words or it can be 500 words, all depending on your audience, your goal, and the topic you’re discussing.

Another option is to compile the 5 to 10 articles into an ebook or short report. There are deeper options here as well. You can embed affiliate links, edit and add to the text, add pictures, write an additional introduction and conclusion, create chapters, and so much more with this choice.

With the ebook and short reports option you have a few additional decisions to make. The most important of which is do you want to offer it as a free download to your readers or do you want to sell it as a downloadable information product? With either option you can create and grow a mailing list to go with your blog, and that is always a good thing.

This is just touching the surface of what you can use PLR for on your blog, but it’s a great starting place if you’ve never used private label rights products before. Remember, there’s nothing to fear about PLR as long as you use respected and trusted sources to buy your articles from.

What Can you Do with PLR Articles?

You may have seen the term Private Label Rights or PLR articles being tossed around frequently lately. PLR articles are articles you can buy (usually in packages or as part of a membership) that you may edit and use as you wish. Unlike free reprint articles, you are not required to link back to anyone else’s website which makes them appealing to many web publishers. Once you understand the concept behind PLR articles, you can see why they are appealing. Most people can envision the value of adding the articles to their websites. But, did you know there are more ways to use PLR articles than that?

1. Add them to your blog. Similar to adding PLR articles to your website, you can take excerpts and use them on your blog for fresh content. Whether you take a portion and use it as a “tip of the day” or use the entire article, PLR articles can be a huge time saver for you.

2. Send them in your newsletter. Need content for your newsletter? PLR articles are an option. Of course, if you’re developing a relationship with your readers, you may wish to edit the articles to make them your own voice. However, you can pull a section from a PLR article – use it as inspiration — and whip out a newsletter in minutes.

3. Start an ecourse. If you purchase a package of PLR articles based on a theme, it’s quite easy to turn them into an ecourse simply by adding them to your autoresponder. Something as simple as “Five Ideas for Kids Lunches” can become a 5 day ecourse to grow a big newsletter list.

4. Use them in your podcast. Take a PLR article and use it as inspiration for a podcast. Add the content and you’re done.

5. Send them in a print mailing. Direct mailing is huge. If you have a list of postal mailing addresses, put together a free report from PLR articles and send it out.

6. Create a special report. Simply bulk together some PLR articles that have the same topic, and make them flow into a special report. Turn it into a pdf file and give it away to your website visitors. See how easy that is?

The only hard part is finding a high quality PLR service that fits your niche. Look around. Make sure the PLR package or membership you choose provides you with high quality articles so you can create something you’ll be proud of.

People think that you just buy an article and slap it up on your website.

Lots of people have graduated from that line of thinking, and edit the article to some degree – possibly even just using it for a framework to craft their own article.

Then there is the ‘ultimate‘ line of thinking in regards to PLR ==> and that is just what Lynn has so awesomely shown us the last two weeks!

And then we spent the whole hour dissecting the hows and the whys and the whole entire PLR game plan.

If you will picture yourself standing next to a creek, and tossing in a little rock – the rings that form out and out and out from that one little splash – that’s kind of how I see this method of using PLR. And I was absolutely thrilled to get to really see the meat of it happen right in front of me! Like I said, I’ve heard people speak about it before, but, to witness it like this really made a big impact on me!

That’s not to say I haven’t gotten anything done, I’ve done plenty of little things here and there to feel productive about. But, I haven’t been focused on bringing my sites and projects from start to profit. I’ve just sort of floundered around not knowing what I’m doing.

I’m sure I’m not the only one this happens to, right? Please, say yes -LoL- I’m starting to come out of the weird funk that I was in and get back to focusing on getting projects completed. Today’s task is working on Product Review PLR with Lisa. Tidying up June’s content package, sending out a message to our list to let them know about all the new goodies that are available in the member’s area, and contacting some possible JV partners to get things moving along.

On that subject as well I want to share this video that Alan made. You might know Alan from Internet Marketing Nirvana. In this video he shows you exactly what you get as a premium member of Product Review PLR, and he has some great ideas about how to use that content in your efforts.

I’ve also got a few things to work on for clients, as well as help a friend get her business card site setup. After all that is crossed off my to do list I am going to get to work on Twitter Signature Styles and figure out exactly how to market that and give it the best internet life a site can have. I’ve never marketed that type of site before, so it’s new for me.

I also have a few other things floating around on my to do list in little bits. I’m going to be re-launching Great Articles for Moms soon on a WordPress platform, I’ll tell you all about that later on as I get closer to finishing things up on it. Then of course there are exciting things going on right here at Easy Wahm Websites with our new crew members and all our great guest bloggers!

If you’ve purchased your fair share of PLR and find that it’s taking up tons of space on your computer’s hard drive and you’re having a hard time determining what content you’ve used and where and which articles you still have available for use, you’ll be happy to know, you’re not alone. It’s not uncommon to becoming disorganized with your PLR, until now that is.

Here’s one way you can organize your PLR content so that you know what’s been used and what is still waiting to find it’s way to the spotlight of your website or newsletter.

First, organize all your PLR by either niche or website. If you own more than one website it might be best to use the later organization method. Move all the articles that you want to use on that website into the site’s folder. Within your website folder create two folders. The first labeled “Rewritten – Ready for Posting to site” and the second, “Used.”

By creating two separate folders you can move the articles to the “Rewritten” folder once you’ve reworked them and they are ready to be added to your blog or website. After you have added them to your site, simply cut and paste the article to the “Used” folder.
